'AN ALIEN IN SYDNEY'
WEB SERIES
An Alien in Sydney is an award winning 5 part series that blends dry comedy with a conspiratorial cinéma vérité style. This series relied heavily on the edit to weave the complex narratives and comedic timing into tight episodes, all framed as a mock documentary.
"When amateur documentary filmmaker, Jen, sets out to investigate an alien abduction in Sydney, she finds the victim of the abduction to be alive and well. In fact, too well…
As filmmaker Jen embroils herself in the world of the bored, bitter, and frustrated thirty-something-year-olds, it is clear that something strange has indeed happened. And it's not yet over. Through found-footage and interviews that Jen has left behind, we follow a story of hope in the face of mundanity."

Creatures of Australia
is an immersive exhibition showcasing the unique wildlife of Australia's isolated ecosystem. Working with various local wildlife sanctuaries and award winning cinematographer Dale Bremner, over 50 creatures endemic to Australia were filmed in extreme slow motion (800 fps) to capture their behaviours in stunning detail. This footage was then edited down into looping videos on 10 larger than life screens (over 6 meters high) as a fully immersive video experience. After a successful launch in Sydney during the winter of 2024, the exhibition will now tour overseas.
My responsibilities on this project included cataloguing and editing selects for vast amounts of wildlife footage in extreme slow motion. These edits were then adapted into looping videos for display on large screens, working with projectionists to ensure correct aspect ratios, playback codecs and contrast ratios for each screen.
This is the latest project from AGB Creative, known worldwide for creating Vivid Sydney among many other cultural experiences utilising large scale projected video installations.

Featuring comedian John Cruckshank of Redfern Electrical fame, this music video is a surreal and sensory experience to pair with the song lyrics. In order to match the dynamic changes in this punk track, the video edit required careful setup and payoff for each visual development. This gives the music video a progression to keep the viewer engaged.

Deerstalker Pictures produce fantasy themed online comedy sketches, carving out a niche that has garnered the support of Screen Australia and acquired them a dedicated audience. Engaging with passionate fandoms like the cosplay and Dungeons & Dragons communities, their unique brand of comedy and insider references have established Deerstalker Pictures as a pillar of the Sydney gaming and role-play communities.
As well as editing full episodes and social cutdown clips for Deerstalker's flagship ongoing series '1 For All', I have played a key role in the development of their latest upcoming series. These edits include multicam coverage with upwards of 6 audio tracks for a variety of characters and improvised moments, requiring an intuitive sense of narrative and comedic timing for each edit.
